"The truth shall set you free..."

The purpose of this section is to provide links to accurate information regarding the Roman Catholic Church’s positions and directives on the subject of demonology and related fields. Some of these sources are from the Church itself, others from Bishops, Priests, mandated Exorcists, respected demonologists and others working in this area within the Church Militant.

Christian Faith and Demonology, by The Sacred Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith. This study was completed by an expert commissioned by the Congregation in order to give the reader a “sure foundation for the reaffirmation of the teaching of the Magisterium on the theme.” [ Resource’s Trust Rating: ***** 5 Stars – OFFICIAL CHURCH DOCUMENT ]

A Major Revision of the Discipline on Exorcism: A Comparitive Study of the Liturgical Laws in the 1614 and 1998 Rites of Exorcism, by Jeffrey S. Grob. Fr. Jeffrey Grob’s dissertation, submitted to the Faculty of Canon Law, Saint Paul University, Ottawa, Canada, in 2006, was in partial fulfillment for the degree of Doctor of Canon Law. This resource, the link to which is to the document in .pdf format, is easily one of the most important and useful resources on this website. I consider it to be core reading and study material for anyone wishing to have a cogent understanding of the Church’s Rite of Exorcism and the development of the Church’s response to preternatural evil over its long history.
